Mainstream media rarely provide context for the poll results of the day. We're doing just that for approval ratings for President Bush using trend data from the Washington Post.
The President's approval ratings took a significant drop in February 2004 (hitting 50 percent) and have not recovered, ranging from 47 - 50 percent in the subsequent 16 months. June's data show that only 48 percent answered "yes" when asked "Do you approve or disapprove of the way George W. Bush is handling his job as president?"
