Various U.S. government agencies and departments are involved in the Bush Administration "war on terrorism." This section is a guide to those groups, their mandates, and their leadership.
Senate Committee Confirms Hayden for CIA Chief
23 May 2006. Only three of the seven Democrats on the Senate Intelligence Committee voted against confirmation (12-3) of Gen. Michael Hayden as the head of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). Hayden would be the 20th chief of the spy agency; he is at the center of controversy surrounding Bush Administration intelligence gathering practices.
Department of Homeland Security
DHS is the nation's front line in anti-terrorism efforts. It has three missions: to prevent terrorist attacks within the United States, to reduce America's vulnerability to terrorism, and to minimize the damage from potential attacks and natural disasters.

This Central Intelligence Agency web site provides access to speechs, press releases and other materials related to CIA anti-terrorism activity.
Department of State: Terrorism
The State Department has detailed information about global terrorism, the 9-11 attack on the U.S., U.S. embassy bombings and Designated Foreign Terrorist Organizations. Press releases and speeches are archived here.
