Facebook, the social networking site that is now open to everyone, has a myriad of political applications (widgets) that you can add to your profile. Here are the top applications for Presidential Campaign 2008!
Election '08
If your candidate doesn't have an application, you can use this Newsvine-created one to add a presidential endorsement to your Facebook profile; it also contains a political news feed. As of 21 August, it had almost 172,000 users.
PoliTicker
If your candidate doesn't have a Facebook application yet, use PoliTicker to add a candidate news feed to your Facebook profile. As of 21 August, it had almost 1,200 users.
John Edwards For President
Fred Stutzman, a University of North Carolina graduate student, created this application to support the John Edwards campaign. The application features recent videos and blog posts; the boxed application contains a video link and a contribute button. As of 21 August, it had almost 1,000 users.
Rudy Giuliani For President
Christopher Corbett (Springfield, MO) created this application to support the Rudy Giuliani campaign. The application places a small banner on your profile; open the application for the latest campaign. As of 21 August, it had almost 1,100 users.
Barrak Obama For President
The Barrak Obama campaign created this application. The application puts the most recent campaign video and news on your profile; it also helps you communicate with other supporters. As of 21 August, it had almost 21,600 users.
Students For Mitt Romney For President
Steven Munoz (Charleston, SC, The Citadel) developed this application for Mitt Romney's campaign for president. The application adds a banner to your profile. As of 21 August, it had almost 300 users.
